Characterization of children and adolescents in a psychology school service in Paraná

Abstract
This essay aimed to survey the characteristics of children and adolescents who sought care at the Psychological Clinic of the State University of Londrina, between the years 2015 and 2017. This
is documentary research undertaken in the screening interviews of children and adolescents. 160 screening forms were consulted and the data revealed important features: predominance of male children and adolescents (55%); higher frequency of complaints about treatment regarding school difficulties (37.75%) and externalizing behaviors (16.24%); high rate of medicalization for the treatment of ADHD (50.62%) among
subjects who use medications; difficulty in welcoming and linking users to the service; high rates of service withdrawal and non-return to care after the screening interview. This work corroborates to future researches in the field to improve the care provided
