Work, pleasure, suffering and defense strategies in managerial work

He main objective of this study is to know the defense strategies, in the context of mental health, used by managers of different organizations, highlighting the aspects that promote pleasure and suffering that the organization of this work brings them. As theoretical assumptions, it was based on studies of the subject of mental health starting from the paradox and contradictions that the act of working has.
Classifying itself as a descriptive study, a survey method was used to collect data from a statistically established sample of 96 research individuals. Through the data collected and the analyzes carried out, it was possible to infer that managers, with their main focus on personal and professional success, adopt defensive strategies of individualism, associated, in some cases, with passivity, in order to balance themselves face to diferente job challenges and maintaining their position within the organization.
