In a pandemic scenario, facing the measures taken to contain the virus, the teaching class faced many challenges and obstacles. For this reason, this study aimed to identify the main impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of Brazilian teachers. Participants were teachers, who taught or taught at different levels of education, from public or private schools, during the pandemic. The data were collected through an online questionnaire, composed of several questions related to the highlighted theme. These data were analyzed quantitatively through BioEstat and Microsoft Excel applications. The main results pointed out that the adaptations resulting from the pandemic directly impacted the mental health of the teaching class, intensifying feelings such as anxiety, impotence and insecurity. The increase in these negative feelings occurred generally in professionals of all age groups. Finally, it was concluded that this study contributed to a greater clarification on the subject.
