Online user embracement during the COVID-19 pandemic: emergency remote internship in Psychology

Abstract

This experience report aimed to describe the implementation of an online user embracement protocol developed by a school-service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as an alternative to the practice of face-to-face internship in psychological assessment. To this end, initially a description of the screening and the online user embracement protocol that was carried out with the service users was presented. Next, the topics that characterized the online user embracements were highlighted, as well as what was possible to perceive from this experience. Despite the complex and urgent pandemic period, positive aspects that contributed to the interns' experience were noted. Still, it was understood that the online user embracement protocol was constituted as a useful tool to promote the mental health of the participants.
