Internações psiquiátricas em hospitais gerais no estado do Ceará
Abstract
The objective was to investigate the occurrence, regional variation and factors associated with psychiatric hospitalizations in general hospitals (IPHG) in the state of Ceará. An ecological study was carried out, from 2013-2017, using official data. A descriptive analysis of selected variables was made, which were then inserted into a logistic regression model, with the outcome of the IPHG. 20.6% of hospitalizations took place in general hospitals, 84.5% in the Sobral macro-region. 84.6% of hospitalizations were carried out in five hospitals. The variables that showed the greatest association with IPHG were: diagnosis ICD-10 F00-F19, hospital stay = <30 days and residing in the macro regions of Sobral/Sertão Central. There was a high proportion of IPHG, important macro-regional variations, as well as a set of variables that are associated with IPHG. Such findings provide subsidies for understanding the diversity of local challenges that the country faces to consolidate changes in the mental health care model.
